John Cena Reveals ‘Gutlessness’ In Apology To China, Critics Say

Film star and professional wrestler John Cena was taken to the mat by critics Tuesday for apologizing to China after he referred to as Taiwan a rustic in an interview.

Cena instructed Taiwanese media that Taiwan can be the primary “nation” to have the ability to see his new “Quick and Livid” movie “F9,” prompting backlash in China, which considers the self-ruled democratic island nation its personal territory, The Related Press reported. China usually takes solutions of Taiwan independence as an insult.

“In a single interview, I made a mistake,” Cena mentioned in Mandarin in a video posted Tuesday to Chinese language social media, per AP. “I must say now that that is very, very, very, very, crucial. I really like and respect China and the Chinese language folks. I’m very, very sorry. As for my mistake, I actually apologize for it.”

American enterprise efforts to placate China due to its profitable market are nothing new. In 2019 Houston Rockets normal supervisor Daryl Morey issued an apology after tweeting his help for democratic protesters in Hong Kong. However the harm was achieved.
