Coronavirus: The Indian manufacturing facility making 6,000 syringes a minute

Rajiv Nath, who heads India’s largest syringe manufacturing facility, says he’s turning down as many as 40 requests for syringes from the world over.

Mr Nath’s Hindustan Syringes & Medical Gadgets (HMD) is in big demand now as nations attempt to ramp up vaccination in opposition to Covid-19.

The manufacturing facility is at present producing some 4 million syringes a day however Mr Nath says that is nonetheless not sufficient on condition that the world wants 10 billion syringes to vaccinate simply 60% of its inhabitants.

He hopes that higher coordination between the WHO, governments and syringe makers will easy the best way going ahead.
