Australia floods: Stranded bride airlifted to marriage ceremony

A bride in New South Wales needed to be flown to her marriage ceremony after being left stranded by rising floodwaters close to the city of Taree on 19 March.

Kate Fotheringham was spending the evening earlier than her marriage ceremony other than her groom, Wayne Bell, when round 250 millimetres of rain fell in a single day.

The deluge left her dad and mom’ property surrounded by floodwater, so she needed to put out a cry for assistance on social media.

Chatting with Lucy Hockings on BBC World Information, she stated her plea was answered by an area helicopter firm.
